Carlos A. R. Gomes, Senior Executive, is responsible for the Sustainability and Continuous Improvement area at the SODECIA Group. His recent activity has been oriented towards the management and development of national and international energy self-sufficiency and Continuous Improvement projects AI Gen based to increase efficiency of the systems and Operations, placing the Group within international Sustainability requirements. He also served as Chief Information Officer, Project Management Officer Europe and Asia and Corporate Operational Audit. He has an MBA in Management and Marketing from ESADE Business School and Universidade Católica, a Postgraduate in Computer Networks and Security Systems and a Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering-ACI from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto

Marcal Bosch

Marcal is the Head of Global ITOT at Novartis, with over 14 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He specializes in organizational transformation from local to global operations and has expertise across various technical fields, from oral dose manufacturing to sterile production. Marcal holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Project Management. He is passionate about emerging technologies, leadership, and talent development.

Barry Callebaut

Dr. Gustavo Cabral is currently the VP Digital Customer Supply & Development at Barry Callebaut.

With more than 15 years of experience in supply chain, operations and production technology, Gustavo has been part of the technological and cultural transformation of several global key players in different industries throughout his career. His focus is on Industry 4.0 applications, an area in which he holds a PhD from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

I have 7 years of experience in leading teams, predictive/preventive maintenance/inspection culture development, optimizing and empowering people, processes and technology based on agile / LEAN with My motto: Think Big, Start Small, Scale Fast!

Stefan Hoppe

President and Executive Director

Stefan Hoppe is the OPC Foundation President since end 2018 coordinating the OPC expansion into the Internet of Things & Industry 4.0.

Stefan has been the Global Vice President since 2014 and the President of the OPC Europe organization since 2010 being the catalyst for initiating liaisons with other industrial consortiums that has resulted in OPC working groups developing companion specifications for the organizations respective information models.

Stefan Hoppe studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. Since 1995 he has worked for BECKHOFF Automation, starting as a software developer later as a lead Product Manager with focus on PC based Automation, connectivity and embedded software products.

Toine Dirven

Head of Manufacturing Digital

Volvo

Toine is the Head of manufacturing Digital at Volvo Cars, with over 25 years of experience in the industrial automation. He is responsible for the application landscape used at all the Volvo Cars manufacturing plants around the globe.

Volvo Cars manufacturing has 8 car plants and 3 component plants . He has been working in the European and Chinese plants to support the rollout of the Digital solutions within manufacturing.

At the moment Volvo Cars is changing the Digital landscape to support Smart and sustainable manufacturing to create a more agile, efficient, and competitive manufacturing environment by interconnection our systems and collecting and analyzing data to optimize production, predict maintenance needs, and improve decision-making.

Within Volvo Cars Digital they are working in Agile product teams and deliver a mix of own developed software (MES/MOM layer)  and COTS solutions like S/4 HANA (ERP layer) and Team Center PLM.

Toine  is very passionate about using new AI/ML technologies in the assembly process in the factories.

Manuel Aguado Puertas

Global Digital Manufacturing Manager

Danone

Manuel Aguado Puertas is an expert in industrial automation and digitalization, currently working in Danone’s Digital Manufacturing Acceleration program. As the Global Digital Manufacturing Manager & Industrial Product Owner, he drives innovation through scalable IoT solutions and manages digital catalogue solutions. His role focuses on implementing advanced technologies and maximizing their impact in manufacturing.

Previously, Manuel held key roles at Siemens and Procter & Gamble. At Siemens, he managed the development of Industrial Edge IoT applications and led a team of software developers. At Procter & Gamble, he spearheaded automation and robotics projects, contributing to the company’s Industry 4.0 strategy.
